Audrey Hingle.
Hi, I’m Audrey Hingle, a Strategic Communications Consultant helping experts working at the intersection of technology and society share their work more effectively.

Audrey Hingle is a Strategic Communications Consultant focused on technology and society. She helps researchers, academics, technologists and other experts share their research through compelling storytelling across articles, blogs, and social media. Formerly the Head of Marketing at Mozilla Foundation, she led marketing for award-winning campaigns that brought ethical tech issues to global audiences. She’s also Editor-in-Chief of The Internet Exchange, Mallory Knodel’s newsletter covering internet governance, digital rights, and the intersection of technology and society.
What I Do
Communication Strategy
I help experts translate complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives that reach the right audiences, whether that’s policymakers, journalists, funders, or the public. My career spans over 15 years in marketing communications, and I've spent the last six developing strategies that make technical research more accessible and impactful.
Some career highlights include leading marketing communications for Mozilla's *Privacy Not Included, a shopping guide that helps consumers make informed decisions about the privacy and security of connected products. I also developed the marketing strategy for YouTube Regrets Reporter, a crowdsourced investigation into YouTube’s recommendation algorithms that won a Shorty Impact Award. I ensured these initiatives reached the right audiences through strategic messaging, digital engagement, and content planning to drive awareness and action. I now apply these skills to my work at The Internet Exchange, where I help experts share their research, ideas and insights on internet governance, digital rights, and technology’s social impact.
Content Development
A strong strategy is just the beginning. Bringing it to life requires the right content. I specialize in developing high-impact multimedia content that positions experts as thought leaders and amplifies their research across digital channels.
I launched and scaled Mozilla's Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, growing audiences and earning a Shorty Impact Award for Mid-Sized Nonprofit of the Year. I produced and conducted interviews for the documentary “Unknown Influence” featuring researchers working on platform accountability and created the “Mozilla Explains” series, featuring experts breaking down key issues in AI and tech governance. I also led marketing for the IRL podcast, which resulted in many awards including a Webby win for Best Tech Podcast.
I work with researchers, academics, and technologists to develop the right mix of strategy and content, helping bring complex technology issues into mainstream conversations and ensuring their work reaches the right people and drives real impact.

"Audrey combines creative thought leadership with cross-functional prowess—turning ideas into impactful, engaging content."
